The importance of back up equipment

Just a quick post! For the first time in many years, the other week I had a major issue with my DJ controller (decks). I had only just set up and started my set when my left deck decided it didn't want to work. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get a song to play on it. PANIC STATIONS!
Errr... no not exactly. A good DJ carries BACK UP EQUIPMENT, and in my case I have many controllers. A quick trip to my vehicle and my trusty back up Denon Prime Go was set up and ready. What could have been a night ender for many DJ's, ended up just a tiny bump in the road for me. Luckily my main controller was an easy fix, I won't go in to detail but the hard drive had corrupted due to improper shut down (my fault!). Plugged it in to a PC, fixed it, and now it's back up and running 100%
The moral of this story, only hire a DJ who has back up equipment or your party could be a non starter!!
